Global Warming Swindle
By Thomas Sowell
March 15, 2007

Britain's Channel 4 has produced a devastating documentary titled "The Great Global Warming Swindle." It has apparently not been broadcast by any of the networks in the United States. But, fortunately, it is available on the Internet.

Distinguished scientists specializing in climate and climate-related fields talk in plain English and present readily understood graphs showing what a crock the current global warming hysteria is.

These include scientists from MIT and top-tier universities in a number of countries. Some of these are scientists whose names were paraded on some of the global warming publications that are being promoted in the media -- but who state plainly that they neither wrote those publications nor approved them.

One scientist threatened to sue unless his name was removed.

While the public has been led to believe that "all" the leading scientists buy the global warming hysteria and the political agenda that goes with it, in fact the official reports from the United Nations or the National Academy of Sciences are written by bureaucrats -- and then garnished with the names of leading scientists who were "consulted," but whose contrary conclusions have been ignored.

There is no question that the globe is warming but it has warmed and cooled before, and is not as warm today as it was some centuries ago, before there were any automobiles and before there was as much burning of fossil fuels as today.

None of the dire things predicted today happened then.

The British documentary goes into some of the many factors that have caused the earth to warm and cool for centuries, including changes in activities on the sun, 93 million miles away and wholly beyond the jurisdiction of the Kyoto treaty.

According to these climate scientists, human activities have very little effect on the climate, compared to many other factors, from volcanoes to clouds.

These climate scientists likewise debunk the mathematical models that have been used to hype global warming hysteria, even though hard evidence stretching back over centuries contradicts these models.

What is even scarier than seeing how easily the public, the media, and the politicians have been manipulated and stampeded, is discovering how much effort has been put into silencing scientists who dare to say that the emperor has no clothes.

Academics who jump on the global warming bandwagon are far more likely to get big research grants than those who express doubts -- and research is the lifeblood of an academic career at leading universities.

Environmental movements around the world are committed to global warming hysteria and nowhere more so than on college and university campuses, where they can harass those who say otherwise. One of the scientists interviewed on the British documentary reported getting death threats.

In politics, even conservative Republicans seem to have taken the view that, if you can't lick 'em, join 'em. So have big corporations, which have joined the stampede.

Rohrabacher on Gonzales

GOP calls mount for Gonzales ouster
By UPI Staff
United Press International
March 16, 2007

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., has joined a growing list of Republicans calling for the ouster of U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

"Even for Republicans this is a warning sign ... saying there needs to be a change," Rohrabacher told CBS News. "Maybe the president should have an attorney general who is less a personal friend and more professional in his approach."

Sens. Gordon Smith, R-Ore., and John Sununu, R-N.H., have also called for Gonzales to lose his job over the way the Justice Department handled the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys.

"If I were the president, I would fire the attorney general," Sununu told USA Today.

"For the Justice Department to be effective before the U.S. Senate, it would be helpful" if Gonzales resigned, Smith told the newspapers.

Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., told the newspaper he was "deeply concerned about how this whole process has been handled." Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa. -- the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee -- said he was "withholding judgment" on Gonzales' future, but said the attorney general's explanations so far had been "unacceptable" and "mystifying."

Several Democrats have called for the ouster of Gonzales after learning that the White House played a role in the firing last year of several U.S. attorneys. The Justice Department told Congress the dismissals were based on the prosecutors' performance.

President George W. Bush, at a news conference Wednesday in Mexico, expressed confidence in his attorney general but said Gonzales owes a better explanation to Congress.

The Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday voted to authorize subpoenas for five Justice Department officials to testify in the committee's investigation of the matter.

California Governor Signs Homosexual ACCESS BILL 1441

PACIFIC JUSTICE IS ON THE JOB!  FROM BRAD DUCAS

08.29.2006

Gov. Schwarzenegger Signs Into Law “Outrageous” SB 1441

Sacramento, CA—Religious liberty advocates are expressing outrage and frustration today as Governor Schwarzenegger signed into law a bill designed to greatly restrict the ability of individuals and institutions to express their religious viewpoints against homosexuality.

SB 1441, authored by lesbian State Sen. Sheila Kuehl, will implement sweeping changes into state law by adding “sexual orientation” to the list of protected classifications in state accommodation laws. California law will now require that no person be denied “full and equal access” based on sexual orientation (defined to include bisexuality) or sex (including transgender behavior) to any program or activity which is funded directly by the state or “receives any financial assistance from the state.” According to the Senate Committee Report on SB 1441, “[T]he impact of this bill is both wide-ranging and deep. It will also affect contractors with the state (such as nonprofits) where the services provided locally are directly funded by the state or where the contractor receives any financial assistance from the state.” This provision appears to be designed to stop any state funding, contracts or grants from going to religious institutions or nonprofits, such as inner-city ministries and religious schools, which hold traditional or Biblical opposition to homosexuality or transgender behavior.

Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, commented, “This is a dark day in California for everyone who believes in the importance of religious institutions. Governor Schwarzenegger has betrayed the trust and civil rights of Californians who hold traditional, religious opposition to certain types of sexual behavior. This declaration of open hostility and intolerance by the state will result in financial hardship to countless religious ministries, schools and service organizations. We at Pacific Justice Institute have been researching this outrageous legislation and will be preparing for the inevitable legal assault against religious institutions which it will entail.”

Tuesday August 29th, Ethical Charges Filed
Republicans file ethics complaint against Menendez
8/29/2006, 4:18 p.m. ET

By ANGELA DELLI SANTI
The Associated Press

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Two Republican state lawmakers signed a federal ethics
complaint Tuesday against Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez over $300,000 in
rent he collected from a nonprofit agency for which he helped secure
millions in federal dollars.

Assemblymen Richard Merkt and Guy Gregg allege that Menendez — who is
running against Republican state Sen. Tom Kean Jr. for U.S. Senate —
violated
conflict-of-interest rules in his dual roles as landlord and
lawmaker while he was in Congress. They have asked a Senate ethics panel to
review their complaint.

"He was advocating for a group using his power as a congressman to coerce
favored position as well as economic benefits to this organization that
would ultimately pay rent to him,"
said Gregg, of Morris County.

Menendez rented a three-story house in Union City to the North Hudson
Community Action Corp. for nine years until selling the property in 2003,
according to his campaign. The organization, which offers social services
and health care to poor residents, paid Menendez, who was then a
congressman, $3,100 a month in rent that was later raised to $3,200 and then
to $3,400.

In 1998, the organization was seeking federal certification so it could
apply for federal funds and asked Menendez for assistance, said Community
Action Corp. spokesman Joseph Lauro. The congressman agreed and the special
designation was obtained.

"Anytime you have taxpayer grant dollars flow through to the pocket of an
elected official, that is a very bad sign, and that is what appears to have
happened in this case," said Merkt, who also represents Morris County.

Menendez spokesman Matthew Miller said Tuesday that the complaint lacked
merit.

"This is a meritless stunt designed to attract attention away from the
emerging scandals around Tom Kean Jr.'s ethics," Miller said. "Just like his
campaign, it will go nowhere."

Even though the rental arrangement ended while Menendez was still in the
House of Representatives, Merkt and Gregg maintain that the committee has
jurisdiction because it is authorized to address improper conduct that may
reflect on the Senate.

Rob Walker, chief counsel for the ethics committee, declined to comment
Tuesday.

The panel reviews complaints from all sources to determine whether there is
a basis for an investigation.

The last time the committee took action against a senator following an
investigation was in 2002, when New Jersey Democrat Robert Torricelli was
accused of violating ethics rules by accepting gifts without disclosing
them. The panel ultimately admonished Torricelli, and he dropped his
re-election bid.

The Menendez campaign last week filed a federal ethics complaint against
Kean, alleging that the son of former Gov. Tom Kean Sr., was not fully
disclosing his stake in various family trusts.

The Kean campaign then asked Trevor Potter, a former Federal Election
Commission chairman, to look over the complaint, and the Washington lawyer
said the allegation that Kean has access to the trust money is wrong.

Menendez and Kean are battling for a full term in the U.S. Senate for the
seat vacated when Jon S. Corzine became governor. Corzine selected Menendez
to fill the seat for the remaining year of the current term.

NO NEW TAXES

THE EMAIL I RECEIVED BELOW NEEDS TO BE SHARED WITH ALL VOTERS WHO CONSIDER VOTING FOR NEW TAXES, BONDS, ETC.  THINK AGAIN!!!!!!!!

The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" in a casual manner, think about whether you want the "politicians" spending your tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
a. A billion seconds ago it was 1959

b. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

c. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

d. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

e. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans. It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division . .

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans.  Interesting number, what does it mean?

a. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you each get $516,528.

b. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.

c. Or, if you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.

Washington, D.C .. HELLO!!! ... Are all your calculators broken??

If he hollers,  Tax him more,  Tax him until he's good and sore.

Tax his coffin,  Tax his grave, Tax the sod in which he lays.

Put these words upon his tomb,

"Taxes drove me to my doom!" And when he's gone,  We won't relax,  We'll still be after the inheritance TAX!!
